Feels so good to be backkkkkkk(Diddy Voice)....what a weekend folks..sad that we have to come back to the harsh realities of Monday. Monday is always just one of those days that make you realize work is ahead. This past weekend we celebrated, HERDS own, Tobi's birthday along wit our boy Chris' birthday on a 52 passenger party bus...just for the hell of it. Good times man...Good times...

I always live by my "50 no regrets policy"....what I mean by that is..when I'm 50, I don't ever want to look back on my life and say "shoulda,coulda,woulda"..I want to be 50 years old looking out at the beautiful ocean in front of me on an exotic beach...and just lay back and smirk on the life that I lived as a young man in this world...when I had no real responsibilities such as kids and a mortgage...live everyday like its your last folks....JAY

The "German Boxer".....

What's up world...because of my major absence from posts..I felt as though it was only right to leave you guys with a gift.... A FULL preview of one of the official bags we will be releasing. This one I present to you is called "The German Boxer"..I have been using this for a bout a month or so just to get that "wear and tear" feel to the Leather..makes it look better. Since HERDS is part of our name..we are trying to stick with animal themes..naming our bags after animals we admire and ones that we feel possess the qualities the bag has..The German Boxer is a very manly, and reliable dog..simple but effective..just like the bag below..the bag resembles a box type shape...which made it easy to choose the "Boxer" name...This bag was bag #2 in the previews..the color has been changed....The inside fabric color we chose for all the bags was a "Deep Red"..very close to being marroon..but not quite..Enjoy

If you look closely at the pictures..we used different shades and textures of Leathers to create the final piece..Its part of our "Leather Blend" formula we used for the Spring 2010 collection..We really wanted to stay away from just handing you a plain, solid bag..The other bags in the collection contain their own "Leather Blends"..The bag contains 3 compartments on the inside for storage..as well as two zipper pockets on the opposite sides of the bag..for things you may not want moving around loosely...Hopefully you guys like what you see..this might be the last FULL preview you get before you are actually are able to purchase...JAY

Shout outs to you all....been a while I know..numerous long nights and a few headaches later I am here to give you guys an update. Went out to eat with a few of my friends from school and just reflected on life a lil bit. A lot of things have popped up out of nowhere...but this is the life we chose..so we handle whatever comes our way. HERDS OF THE FATHERS will be coming your way for the SPRING 2010 season(Dismiss that little disclaimer at the top of the page). Working hard on getting it to you in the next 2 to 3 weeks. The bags are here on American soil..Just working on Marketing,Official Website and Online Store right now...I will be giving you a look at the colored version of the logo on the bags Friday...as well as a look at the inside of the product..I know a lot of you have been interested in seeing that..I think you will really enjoy the color we chose...stay tuned....JAY

Wts goin world, today felt like the good ol days when I would sit in front of the T.V to find out if school was cancelled because of snow. School cancellations rarely happen in college, so when I got the GREAT news that all classes were cancelled I was ecstatic. As I am typing this my enthusiasm is diminishing because i know its back to reality tomorrow. School-Work-No play This was the scene outside my window.Instead of sitting around all day though... I thought about doing a post about my favorite accessory. "My Lucky Hat"I have numerous hats but this hat right here has moved to #1 on my list. I wear it with anything.... Even wore it to a wedding while wearing a suit. If you see me walking around, 8 times out of 10 I'm wearing it. I would probably wear this hat until all the stiching came apart. The one time i thought i lost it, it felt like the second time I lost my Iphone. Sad Sad day.Another thing is, this hat is a conversation piece. A designer once said something along the lines of " If an article of clothing doesn't make conversation."Dont buy it". Does not matter where I go people want to know if the hat has any history attached to it. I did some research and it looks like the hat does not resemble the traditional Irish hats, many look like it but I did not come across any that looked exactly like it. Looks like someone was pretty handy with needle and thread...had a good eye for material.

I have had conversations with people that usually, I wouldn't have spoken to... Even made some Irish friends in the UK. Irish people always show love when they spot the hat. I'm starting to realize that the least expensive things in my closet are the ones I care about the most. Why? idk. just the way things play out. I'm about to take it down for the night, this snow day is all about over. Back to business tomorrow. Also I appreciate everyone that has been patiently waiting on our product. I promise your wait is about to end.

Also you can spot a U.S pin on one of the pictures in the collage, always got to let people know, Not like they think I have any Irish blood or anything....lol

Even though this guy is my partner...yall probably see him just as much as I do. He made a rare appearance today..so it was only right I had to document it. He made it clear that he promises to be on the website more often from now on...I will believe it when I see it. Tobi is more of behind the scenes type of dude with the brand anyway, so don't think he's not working hard folks. I caught him on the phone making a major move for us earlier..got to keep that under wraps though...just wanted to stop by and keep yall updated. Photoshoot/lookbook is very close to being completed...yall are going to be SHOCKED at what you see...we called those bags in the previews SAMPLES for a reason...wait till you see the real product....JAY

What's up world...Today was a long day...Driving up and down the Highways of New Jersey...had so much work to do with this HERDS OF THE FATHERS brand and I am exhausted. But before I could hit the sheets for the night...I was invited to speak at a program the Sigmas were hosting called "Young Entrepreneurs"..basically took young business men from around the University and area and let them talk about their experiences and the keys to starting your own business...It was cool being able to explain my story to my peers...I really want to be able to go back to my neighborhood one day and talk to kids and just try to show them that there is a way out...I was on a panel with Famous Dj's, Owners of Graphic design/photography/film companies, and young music company CEO's...it was cool just being able to sit with young, like minded individuals chasing the dream....Of course my brother Phil from THE AWARD TOUR (click) had to be on the panel as well. We both been busy so we don't run into each other as much because we both have been on the grind lately..but its always cool to just catch up on each other's lives every once in awhile. This man has been selling out product left and right lately..with all proceeds going to his homeland of Haiti..when I see that..the only thing I can do is just work harder..HERDS OF THE FATHERS is coming folks...JAY

School Sucks...

I hate school..but there are certain things you just got to do in life that you may not like..I guess. But anyway, the semester has started off just how most of the semesters at this University start off...partying to the point of physical and mental exhuastion...Now that that's over..back to business..I am so ready for this brand to come out...It's been about a year of grinding that has gotten Tobi and I to this point..I am greatly humbled by your emails and comments that I have been getting from you guys..really appreciate it..you guys make this journey a whole lot easier on me..but with that being said..WE ARE HERE TO TAKEOVER!!...I respect every brand and what they are doing..but I'm very competitive by nature..so I know we will be able to compete with ANYBODY upon our release...mark my words...we are ready...We have worked so hard and it is not going to stop...if you are not PASSIONATE about what you are doing currently in your life..drop it asap and get to the drawing board..no time to wasteWhat you see above is pretty much my daily fuel....gotta love the College life..right?...HERDS OF THE FATHERS is looking at an early February release..long time coming...JAY

Wts going on, this post is coming to you from London again, two more days out here and im back in the states. My fingers are numb right now, these London folk don't believe in heat. Yesterday I was in Oxford city, I got the honor of touring the best college in the world folks, Oxford University goes in, American Colleges have a lot to learn. I've never scene architecture so incredible in my life ( thus far) post will be up later. but for now onto today's post. If you remember in the previous posts ( previous pages) we showed you what the logo looked like on the caramel bag, Now fresh off the oven we have pics of the logo placements look like on the rest of the bags. Wts goin on world. I know its been a minute since my last post. School kinda took me under but i'm almost recovered. Still have to go back on Tuesday. I know Jason has been keeping you entertained. Just like he said, the time is NEAR, we have made some executive decisions that we will be informing you of soon, also we will be giving you a sneak peak of the logo placement on the rest of the bags. Those pics will be up shortly. Also I would like to personally thank you all for taking this ride with us thus far, you have been with us through the minor Hiccups and the release push back. We appreciate it very much. Not going to bore you with too many words, but this post is coming to you from London UK. A little vacation after all the chaos at school...One thing before you take a look a look at the pictures. If you get a chance to travel, please just get up and go. Not really living if you stay in the same location for a lifetime.
